Exhibition stands in Birmingham: the NEC and ICC
For most of our clients Birmingham means the NEC, the UK’s largest exhibition centre, next to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International station. In the city centre, the ICC Birmingham hosts conferences and congresses. These are the two venues where we deliver most often in the West Midlands.
The exhibition stands we build for Birmingham are modular and reusable: pop-up fabric walls, SEG frames with or without LED backlighting, counters, roll-ups and flags. Everything packs into wheeled cases, and next year only the graphics change. The systems are described on exhibition graphics printing and SEG fabric frames.
Costed example: a 6 × 4 m stand at the NEC
An exhibitor with a 24 m² space wants a curved back wall, a backlit fabric panel, two SEG frames, a counter and two roll-ups:
- curved fabric wall 300 × 230 cm: approx. €440 net
- backlit SEG light box, 2 m²: from approx. 2 × €300 = €600 net
- 2 SEG frame modules 100 × 230 cm with graphics: 2 × €160 = €320 net
- folding counter with graphic: approx. €210 net
- 2 roll-up banners 100 × 200 cm: 2 × €65 = €130 net
Total production: approx. €1,700 net, before transport. For the next show, a new curved-wall graphic is from approx. €210 net and a new SEG graphic from approx. €65 net.

Shop signs in Birmingham
Away from the shows, Birmingham work is mostly retail: units in the Bullring and Grand Central area, high street shopfronts and retail parks. Typical shop signs in Birmingham are fascia letters (face-lit from approx. €46 net per letter, halo-lit from approx. €55 net), a double-sided projecting sign from approx. €300 net and window graphics from approx. €6–12 net per m². For retail parks, a 3 m illuminated double-sided pylon starts at approx. €2,070 net and an unlit 2.5 m totem at approx. €750 net.
A new or changed sign generally needs advertisement consent from Birmingham City Council as the local planning authority, with stricter rules in conservation areas and on listed buildings. We do not file the application, but we supply the visuals and dimensioned drawings it usually needs (from approx. €85 net). Ranges: light box manufacturer, built-up letters, shop window graphics.

Large format printing for Birmingham
We print UV up to 3.2 m wide without seams: PVC banners from approx. €6–13 net per m², reinforced mesh for scaffolding approx. €10–17 net per m², double-sided blockout approx. €13–24 net per m², plus rigid boards, floor graphics and wallpaper. A 50 m² run of 510 g coated banner, for example, comes to approx. €350–650 net. More on large format printing and banner printing.
Installation and agencies
Our two-person crews cost approx. €42 net per hour, and their travel is charged at approx. €1 net per km, there and back from Wieluń. For a single site in Birmingham a partner fitter is usually cheaper; for a multi-store rollout or a large stand our own crew pays off. We quote both. Agencies and resellers can order on a white label basis, without our branding on packaging or on site.
