Company vehicle graphics: partial or full wrap, and what it costs

Four options, from the cheapest to a full wrap

1. Cut vinyl lettering and logo. Single-colour letters with no background: name, phone, website, sometimes a logo. The cheapest and quickest option, legible from a distance. We charge approx. €1.40 net per metre of cut line. Good for service businesses that just want the vehicle to say whose it is.

2. Door magnets. 0.6 mm printed magnetic sheet, approx. €21–32 net/m², with cutting and rounded corners included. A solution for private cars used for work and for leased vehicles, where you do not want anything stuck to the paint. You take the magnet off at the weekend.

3. Partial wrap. Printed graphics on the sides, rear and part of the bonnet, usually 30–60% of the vehicle surface. The most popular option, because it makes a strong impression for sensible money.

4. Full wrap. The whole body covered in graphics. The most striking, but also the most expensive and labour-intensive: every recess, handle and bumper needs working.

The rate per m² of cast vinyl falls with area: approx. €29 for 1–4 m², approx. €24 for 5–15 m², approx. €22 for 16–49 m². With a fleet of several vehicles, the combined area reaches the lower bands, which is a real saving.

On top of these amounts comes fitting, charged by crew hours (approx. €42 net per hour) and travel (approx. €1/km both ways from Wieluń). Fitting time depends on the model, the number of recesses and whether the graphics run over handles, trims and bumpers, so we quote it from the model and photos. Fleets abroad can also be wrapped by partner installers, or vehicles can come to us. The minimum order value is approx. €24 net.

For lettering and magnets alone, a crew visit (minimum 4 hours) would cost more than the material. So these items usually come ready to apply on application tape, or we add them to a larger job where the crew is coming anyway.

Why only cast vinyl for vehicles

Clients ask whether it could be done more cheaply with ordinary vinyl. On the flat sides of a trailer, yes, polymeric is enough. But a vehicle has recesses, wheel arches, bumpers and rivets. Calendered vinyl has memory and over time returns to its original shape: it pulls out of recesses, bridges over swage lines, and dirt collects under the edges. 50 µm cast vinyl has no such memory, and its lifespan is about 8–10 years.

For vehicles we always recommend polymeric laminate too. UV print is durable in itself, but a vehicle faces car washes, grit, salt and wipers, and the laminate takes the brunt. More on the differences between vinyls in cast, polymeric or monomeric vinyl.

Before you order: a checklist

  • Paintwork. Vinyl holds well on original, sound paint. On freshly repaired paint, wait for the period recommended by the body shop. Chips and corrosion will show under the vinyl, and when removed, vinyl can take weak paint with it.
  • Leasing and hire. Check your contract: some lessors require consent for a wrap or its removal before the vehicle is returned. For short contracts, consider magnets.
  • Changing the vehicle colour. If a full wrap changes the vehicle's main colour, you may have to notify the vehicle registration authority (in the UK, for example, the DVLA). Check the rules where your vehicle is registered; do not treat this as legal advice.
  • Windows. We put One Way Vision on the rear window and rear side windows. We do not cover the windscreen and front side windows: regulations set light transmission requirements there.
  • Model and year. Give the exact make, model and body version (e.g. long wheelbase, high roof). For the design we need a drawing or accurate straight-on photos of the vehicle from the side, rear and front.
  • Legibility. For a vehicle on the move, the driver alongside has 2–3 seconds. Name, what you do, phone number. The rest is decoration.

How it works with us

  1. You send the vehicle model, photos and what should go on it.
  2. We design on a vehicle template: a simple design is approx. €42 net with two rounds of changes; for complex graphics we charge studio time.
  3. Once approved, we print the cast vinyl on a UV printer and laminate it.
  4. We arrange a fitting date. The vehicle must be washed; the crew degreases the surface and applies the graphics.
  5. For the first week you do not wash the vehicle; after that as normal, preferably in a touchless car wash.

For fleets, we prepare one design in versions for different models and wrap the vehicles in batches, taking a few off the road at a time. The offer is on the company vehicle and fleet wraps page, and for hauliers in the transport companies and fleets sector page.

Questions and answers

Other questions we often get

Does vinyl damage car paint?

On sound, original paint, no: it actually protects it from minor scratches and sun. When graphics are removed after years, a difference in shade between the covered area and the rest may show; polishing usually evens it out. The risk is with resprayed paint that is poorly bonded to the base.

How long does a vehicle wrap last?

Cast vinyl lasts about 8–10 years. In practice companies change their graphics sooner, after a rebrand or a change of number or offer. The sides and rear last longer than the bonnet and roof, which get the most sun. More in [how long do outdoor stickers last](/poradnik/ile-wytrzymuje-naklejka-na-zewnatrz).

Can I do just the doors now and add the rest later?

You can, but colours from two print runs months apart may differ slightly. If you plan to expand, it is better to design the whole thing now and print in stages the parts that do not touch each other.

Magnet or vinyl: which is better?

A magnet is handy when the vehicle is sometimes private or leased, but it only holds on steel, not aluminium or plastic, and has to be removed for washing. Vinyl is more durable and can cover the whole vehicle. For permanent everyday use, we recommend vinyl.

Can a vehicle with deep swage lines and rivets be wrapped?

Yes, that is exactly what cast vinyl is for. On very deep recesses we sometimes design the graphics so that key elements, such as the phone number, do not fall into a recess where they would be distorted.
