A security company has an advertising advantage it rarely uses to the full: its name hangs on dozens of other people’s fences, gates and shop windows. A sign saying the site is protected works twice over: it deters unwanted visitors and shows the company name to everyone walking past. So in this trade, consistent, legible signs and stickers are the core medium, not an add-on to the contract. The second medium is people: the officer on site and the patrol car outside the client’s shop.
Clients are businesses, shops, housing estates, construction sites and event organisers. They decide after a proposal and a meeting, and renew contracts year after year, so what stays on the facilities manager’s desk matters too. When designing vehicle and workwear graphics we make sure the design does not resemble police or other uniformed services’ markings. What you may put on them is set by law, so have the final design checked by your company lawyer. How to choose an outdoor material is explained in our guide [Dibond or PVC](/poradnik/tablice-dibond-czy-pcv-na-zewnatrz).
1. Signage for protected sites
Signs are usually ordered in batches: a new client, a new estate, a new construction site. One design in two or three sizes, made in a larger run, lets you put signs up as soon as the contract is signed. On the sign, give a number that is answered round the clock, not the office phone.
- Signs for fences and gates→3 mm aluminium composite with UV print, approx. €35–55 net per m², cutting included. 30 signs 30 × 20 cm (1.8 m² × approx. €55) come to approx. €100 net; fixing holes approx. €0.50 net each.
- Stickers for the inside of windows→Printed clear vinyl approx. €7–14 net per m², legible from outside. Applied on the inside, it cannot be scratched off and the weather does not damage it.
- Banners for construction site and warehouse fences→510 g coated PVC lasts 2–3 years. A 2 × 1 m banner is approx. €30 net (2 m² × approx. €13). On a mesh fence a black-back banner works better.
- Car park or site rules board→200 × 100 cm aluminium composite on a galvanised frame from approx. €165 net. The site manager writes the rules; we make sure the layout is easy to read.

2. Gatehouse and security post
The gatehouse is the first place where visitors and delivery drivers ask the way. A well-marked entrance, window and route to unloading save the security officer dozens of identical questions a day.
- “Gatehouse”, “Visitor entrance”, “Deliveries” signs→Aluminium composite outdoors, acrylic on stand-offs indoors (approx. €43–60 net per m²). Consistent with the client’s site signage.
- Emergency numbers and procedures board→On the wall of the security post: contacts, call-out order, site plan. 3 mm PVC at approx. €21–33 net per m² is quite enough indoors.
3. Patrol and response vehicles
A response vehicle must be recognisable from a distance, but must not pretend to be a police car. A clean layout works best: a large company name, a phone number, possibly a band in your brand colours. On the rear window, one-way vision film: the driver can still see out of it.
- Patrol vehicle livery→Cast vinyl with polymeric laminate. Doors and rear, about 3 m² (3 × approx. €29 + laminate 3 × approx. €8), come to approx. €115 net for the print, installation extra.
- Phone number on the rear window→One-way vision film approx. €10–18 net per m². Everyone stopped behind you at the lights sees the number.

4. Officers on site
A security officer must be recognisable at first glance: in a shop, on a building site, at an event. Lettering on the back and a logo on the chest are the minimum. Not every print adheres well to winter jackets with a waterproof coating, so with a new model we test on one garment first.
- T-shirts and sweatshirts with lettering on the back→A4 print on a T-shirt at 50–99 pcs approx. €2.35 net, on a sweatshirt approx. €4 net. Large, high-contrast letters legible from over ten metres.
- Jackets and fleeces for winter→Printing on garments you already have or on new ones. Priced after we have seen the fabric and done a test.
- ID badges→Name or number, photo, company name. 100 badges 90 × 50 mm approx. €60 net; printed lanyards to match.
5. Proposals, tenders and clients
Security contracts are often won through tenders and requests for quotation, and then renewed quietly. A folder with a well-printed proposal looks more serious than stapled sheets. A calendar on the estate manager’s wall keeps you in mind all year.
- Presentation folders→A4, 350 g board with matt lamination. 100 folders approx. €135 net, 500 approx. €270 net.
- Three-month wall calendars for clients→They hang by the desk all year, with your control room number in view. Priced once you choose the calendar pads and quantity.
- Business cards→1,000 double-sided cards approx. €25 net. For sales staff and site coordinators.
- Roll-up banner for trade fairs and meetings→85 × 200 cm with graphic and bag from approx. €55 net. For industry fairs, residents’ association meetings and presentations at clients’ premises.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Put a 24-hour control room number on the signs. An office number staffed from 8 to 4 helps nobody at night.
- Do not make outdoor signs from PVC. Foam PVC can warp after a season in the sun; aluminium composite keeps its shape for years.
- Apply stickers to the inside of clients’ windows. Nobody on the street can scratch them off, and the window cleaner’s squeegee will not damage them.
- With a new jacket model, test the print on one garment. Waterproof coatings take transfers differently, and it is better to find out on one jacket than on a hundred.
- Keep a stock of signs. After signing the contract the client wants signage straight away, and a batch made for stock costs less than five signs ordered in a rush.
