A cleaning company works in other people’s buildings, often in the evening and at weekends when nobody is there. The client rarely sees the work itself. They see the result, the van parked outside and people in company T-shirts in the corridor. So in this trade, advertising is mainly about branding your people and vehicles, and on site it is about order: a checklist by the toilets, labelled products, a clear schedule.
Clients fall into two groups. The first is homes and flats: after-builders cleans, window cleaning, regular cleaning. You win them with a leaflet, a fridge magnet and a van the neighbours see outside the block. The second is companies, residents’ associations, schools and public offices, usually through a request for quotation or a tender. Here what counts is the proposal in a folder and people who look like one team. More on local promotion in our guide [local marketing for a small business](/poradnik/marketing-lokalny-mala-firma).
1. Cars and vans
A van full of vacuum cleaners outside an office block or housing estate is advertising that works several hours a day. The vehicle must say what you clean, not just your name: a company name alone tells a passer-by very little. If staff drive their own cars, magnetic signs that come off after work are better than a wrap.
- Van and company car wraps→Cast vinyl with laminate. The sides and rear of a van, about 6 m² (6 × approx. €24 + laminate 6 × approx. €8), come to approx. €195 net for the print, installation extra.
- Magnetic signs for private cars→0.6 mm printed magnetic sheet, approx. €21–32 net per m², cutting and rounded corners included. On the door in the morning, in the boot after work.

2. The team on site
In an office building after hours, security and the client’s staff should know at once who the person with the trolley in the corridor is. A matching T-shirt and an ID badge do that without explanation. Choose darker colours for cleaning workwear: dirt shows less after a full day’s work.
- Branded T-shirts, sweatshirts and fleeces→A4 print on a T-shirt: 20–49 pcs approx. €3.30 net, from 100 pcs approx. €1.90 net. Print on a sweatshirt approx. €4 net.
- ID badges→Name, photo, company name. 100 badges 90 × 50 mm approx. €60 net. On sites with access control they are often a condition of entry.
3. On the client’s site
Tidy paperwork on site is something the client notices at every inspection. A cleaning checklist in a holder instead of a sheet taped to the wall, labelled bottles, a sign on the cleaners’ cupboard door. It costs little and shows the company has a system.
- Acrylic holders for cleaning checklists→Top-loading pocket with your logo and phone number. You swap the sheet without taking the holder off the wall. Size and quantity priced individually.
- Signs for cleaners’ cupboards and stores→UV-printed 3 mm PVC, approx. €21–33 net per m², quite enough indoors. A cleaning schedule can be added.
- Labels for chemical bottles→Product name, what it is for, dilution. You agree the wording with your chemicals supplier in line with the safety data sheets; we print moisture-resistant labels.
- Logo stickers for trolleys and machines→Contour-cut, in polymeric vinyl approx. €9–16 net per m², which copes better with frequent washing. Your equipment does not get mixed up with the client’s.

4. Winning clients
Private clients most often look for a cleaning company twice a year: in spring (windows) and before Christmas. Hand out leaflets and magnets a week or two in advance. Leave business clients a proposal in a folder: their decision takes longer and goes through several people.
- Letterbox leaflets and brochures→A 6-page DL leaflet, 1,000 copies, approx. €90 net. Prices for basic services and your phone number on the front page.
- Fridge magnets→One square metre of magnetic sheet (approx. €32 net for small quantities) gives about 200 magnets of 9 × 5 cm, so around €0.20 net each. They stay in the kitchen for years.
- Business cards→1,000 double-sided cards approx. €25 net. Every member of staff should carry a few, because people ask for contact details on site.
- Folders for proposals and tenders→A4, 350 g board with matt lamination, 100 folders approx. €135 net. Inside: the proposal, references and your insurance certificate.
5. Base, office and events
A cleaning company’s base is often a store for equipment and a small office. A clear sign is enough, plus a banner on the fence if the base is by a road. A roll-up banner is handy for trade fairs and meetings with residents’ associations.
- Company sign at the entrance→3 mm aluminium composite with UV print approx. €35–55 net per m². Lasts for years outdoors.
- Banner on the base fence→510 g coated PVC, good for several years. A 3 × 1 m banner is approx. €40 net (3 m² × approx. €13).
- Roll-up banner for meetings and trade fairs→85 × 200 cm with graphic and bag from approx. €55 net.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Write on the vehicle what you do: offices, homes, after-builders, window cleaning. Plus a phone number that can be read from across the street.
- Take magnetic signs off before an automatic car wash and wipe the paint underneath now and then. After a few months, damp and grit under a magnet leave a mark.
- Order checklist holders for all your sites at once, with spares. In one order each one comes out noticeably cheaper than reordering two at a time.
- Hand out leaflets and magnets ahead of time: in March before the window season and in early December before Christmas. How to choose the format is covered in our guide [which leaflet format to choose](/poradnik/jaki-format-ulotki-wybrac).
- Order T-shirts with spares in the most common sizes. Cleaning teams change, and reordering five shirts costs more than holding spares from a larger run.
