An office building has two audiences for its signage. The first is the visitor: a courier, a tenant’s client, a job candidate who has to find the entrance, the car park, the right core and the door on the third floor without phoning reception. The second is the prospective tenant, who judges the building on first impressions: the lobby, the corridors, the state of the directories. An out-of-date tenant board with paper notes stuck on it says more about the landlord than any brochure.
Coworking adds atmosphere to that. People choose a space partly by how it feels and whether they want to take a photo there. What both have in common: tenants change. So from the start we design signage so that replacing one door sign or one panel on the pylon is quick and cheap, and the new item looks exactly like the old ones: same material, colour and typeface.
1. Entrance, façade and car park
From the street, the building must be recognisable by name and the entrance obvious. A pylon at the entrance with the building name and panels for tenant logos is standard on business parks. We make the panels replaceable, so when a tenant changes you swap one face, not the whole structure. Vacant space is best sold by a banner on the façade visible from the road.
- Pylon or totem with tenant list→Double-sided illuminated pylon, 3 m high, from approx. €2,070 net; non-illuminated Dibond totem from approx. €750 net. Excluding the foundation, which your building contractor makes to the design.
- Illuminated building name→On the parapet or above the entrance. Front-lit letters from approx. €46 net per character at 30 cm high, plus approx. €11 net per character for every extra 10 cm.
- ‘Offices to let’ mesh banner on the façade→270 g mesh approx. €7–13 net per m². Installation from a lift reaching up to 18 m from approx. €230 net per day.
- Car park and delivery area signage→Signs with bay numbers, tenant reservations, directions to the loading bay and visitor entrance. Dibond with UV print approx. €35–55 net per m².

2. Lobby and reception
The lobby is the landlord’s calling card. The tenant directory by the lifts should have changeable name strips, so an update takes minutes. At reception, the building’s or coworking operator’s logo works well as a 3D sign, backlit.
- Tenant directory with changeable strips→Acrylic on stand-off fixings or Dibond with slide-in inserts. We supply spare blank strips so a new tenant is on the board from day one.
- 3D logo on the reception wall→Acrylic or Dibond letters and logo on stand-offs from approx. €16 net per character; halo-lit version from approx. €55 net per character.
3. Floors, corridors, doors
Every floor needs the same elements: the floor number by the lift, directions to unit numbers, door signs, signs for toilets, kitchens and exits. We design it as one system, so years later a single sign can be added without hunting for the old file.
- Door signs with changeable text→Clear acrylic with UV print and white underlay approx. €43–60 net per m²; stainless steel stand-offs with fitting approx. €2.35 net each.
- Floor signage and direction signs→Floor number opposite the lift, arrows to units, signs for bookable meeting rooms.

4. Glazing and interiors
Offices with glass-walled rooms need film, for privacy and for safety. Large glass doors and walls are usually marked with bands at eye level so nobody walks into them; check the requirements with your health and safety adviser or designer. Open-plan offices and coworking spaces have two problems: bare walls and noise. We have ready answers to both.
- Frosted film for meeting rooms and offices→Frosted film over the whole pane or in bands, with a cut-out logo. Approx. €12–21 net per m².
- Manifestation on glass doors and walls→Bands, dots or a logo in frosted film at eye level. Cheap, and it stops people walking into the glass.
- Wall graphics and lettering→A city map in the kitchen, slogans in the shared area, cut vinyl lettering. Printed wall stickers approx. €6–12 net per m².
- Printed acoustic panels→They quieten the room and double as artwork. UV-printed acoustic fabric approx. €19–30 net per m².
5. Coworking: community and events
A coworking space sells a desk, but also a community. A neon in the shared area ends up on social media, a logo mug sits on members’ desks, and a lanyard with the access card is a reminder of where you work. For events such as meetups, training sessions and open days, a roll-up banner that then lives in reception comes in handy.
- LED neon for the shared area→A neon on a PVC backing board up to 60 × 40 cm from approx. €210 net, a larger one up to 100 × 60 cm from approx. €350 net.
- Logo mugs for members→450 ml ceramic mug with a one-colour print from approx. €6 net each for 100 pieces.
- Lanyards and access card holders→Personalised 90 × 50 mm ID badges: 100 pcs approx. €60 net. Printed lanyards quoted on request.
- Roll-up banner for events and reception→A 100 × 200 cm roll-up banner from approx. €65 net. Change the graphic when prices or the offer change.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Before ordering new door signs, make a list of every room with its number. Most corrections come from numbering on the plan that differs from the numbers on the doors.
- Order spare blank signs and directory strips straight away. Adding one piece a year later costs more than ten in the first order.
- Write the typeface and colours down in a short guideline. A new sign in a different font stands out immediately in the corridor.
- Apply frosted film on meeting rooms up to about 1.5–1.8 m, not over the whole pane. The room stays bright, and passers-by can’t see the screen.
- Schedule work in an occupied building for evenings or weekends. Out-of-hours installation costs more, but tenants don’t complain about noise and blocked corridors.
