In haulage the fleet itself is the advertising. A tractor unit and trailer cover several hundred kilometres a day and are seen by thousands of people – including drivers you want to hire and companies looking for a carrier. Well-branded, clean vehicles with a readable phone number do more than job ads. Badly done ones, with peeling corners, say the opposite.
From our point of view a fleet has three requirements. The vinyl must withstand brush washes, road salt and years on the road. The colour on the tenth vehicle must match the first, even if you buy it a year later. And leased vehicles have to be returned after a few years without any trace of the graphics, so the choice of film and adhesive matters from day one.
1. Tractor units, trailers and vans
On vehicles we use cast vinyl, because it conforms to body contours and doesn't shrink over time like cheaper films. Laminate protects the print from washes and grit. For a fleet we make one design in several size variants – one for the tractor unit, another for the van, but the same layout and colour.
- Tractor unit cab livery→Logo, phone and website on the doors and fairings. The cab is always visible, whatever trailer it is pulling.
- Full wraps for vans and LCVs→A van in town is a moving billboard. Cast vinyl means the graphics can come off when the vehicle goes back to the leasing company.
- One Way Vision film on windows→Graphics on the van's rear window without losing visibility for the driver.
- Magnetic signs for subcontractors and hired vehicles→When you add a vehicle for the season or a subcontractor drives for you. Off in a second, paintwork stays clean.
- Fleet numbers and company details on the doors→A side number helps the transport planner and the customer identify the vehicle. Contour-cut from vinyl.
- Printed trailer curtainsThe largest surface in the fleet. We print on 680 g PVC tarpaulin made for trailers, quoted to the curtain dimensions.

2. Depot and yard
A haulage depot is rarely a showpiece, yet customers, drivers coming for interviews and third-party vehicles collecting goods all arrive there. A sign on the gate and simple yard signs organise traffic and save 'where do I go?' phone calls.
- Sign on the gate or office building→Company name and gate number. Dibond with UV print, readable from a lorry cab.
- Yard information signs→Office, visitor parking, loading area, wash bay. Signs on frames placed at a driver's eye level.
- 'Drivers wanted' recruitment banner→Hung on the fence by a road professional drivers use. Often more effective than a job board.
3. Drivers and customers
The driver is the face of the company at the customer's site, on the loading dock and at truck stops. Branded clothing and a decent flask are small things, but drivers notice and appreciate them. For freight forwarders and regular customers, leave something that hangs on the wall all year.
- Branded clothing for drivers→Printed T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets. At unloading it is clear at once which company the driver is from.
- ID badges and lanyards→Access to customers' warehouses, training, medicals. A badge with name and photo on a branded lanyard.
- Flasks and travel mugs→An engraved steel flask is a giveaway a driver genuinely uses every day.
- Three-month calendars for forwarders and customers→Hangs above the forwarder's desk all year. Order in September or October, before the calendar season starts.

4. Office, trade fairs and recruitment
Haulage firms increasingly appear at trade fairs and open days for drivers. A simple kit that fits in a car boot is enough.
- Roll-up for job fairs and meetings→A photo of the fleet, what you offer drivers, the recruitment phone number. Up in a minute.
- Letterheads→Quotes, order confirmations, letters to customers. Printed letterhead with logo and details looks more professional than a word-processor template.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Check the lease agreement before branding a leased vehicle. Graphics are usually allowed, but the vehicle must be returned without traces, which is why we use films that come off the paintwork cleanly.
- On a vehicle make the phone number and web address much bigger than seems right on screen. From the next lane only large elements can be read.
- When the fleet grows, keep the design file and the colour reference. A vehicle bought two years later will then look exactly like the first.
- Wait at least a few days before the first wash after application, and don't aim the lance at the edges of the vinyl.
- Order company calendars at the start of autumn. More in [company calendars – when to order](/poradnik/kalendarze-firmowe-kiedy-zamowic).
