A municipal services company is visible in town every day, though it rarely thinks of that as advertising. The bin lorry goes down every street, the water emergency van stands by a burst main for half a day, and the collection calendar hangs in every kitchen. These media work for years, so they should carry a clear phone number and a consistent look, not three versions of the logo from successive vehicle tenders.
The other side is obligations and safety. Water facilities have to be labelled, grant-funded projects marked as the agreement requires, and at the recycling centre residents need to know where rubble goes and where electrical waste goes. The wording of warning signs or protection zone notices comes from regulations and permits; give it to us and we take care of a material that will last years outdoors, and of the installation.
1. Fleet: bin lorries, service vans, diggers
New vehicles arrive in different years from different suppliers, so it is worth basing the livery on one design with variants for each body size. On bodies with rivets and pressed panels we use only cast vinyl; cheaper polymeric film lifts after the first winter.
- Bin lorry and body graphics→Cast vinyl with UV print approx. €19–29 net per m² plus laminate approx. €8 net per m². The big side of the body is a good place for a recycling message.
- Emergency number on every vehicle→Emergency phone number and fleet number on the doors, and that’s it: residents with a burst pipe know straight away who to call. One sticker design for the whole fleet.
- Magnetic signs for hired vehicles→For seasonal work on subcontractors’ or hired vehicles. Magnetic sheet approx. €21–32 net per m², comes off without a trace.

2. Facilities: water intakes, treatment works, recycling centre
Technical sites stand out in the open, often unstaffed. Signs have to survive sun, frost and vandals, so we make them from Dibond with UV print and add anti-graffiti laminate on fences facing the road.
- Signs for water intakes and pumping stations→Facility name, owner, duty phone number and any information required by the permit. Dibond with UV print, approx. €35–55 net per m².
- Recycling centre signage→A rules board at the gate, signs for bays and containers by waste stream, arrows for drivers. We design it all together as one system.
- Stickers for bins and containers→Waste stream colour, pictogram, a short ‘yes / no’ list. Polymeric vinyl approx. €9–16 net per m², contour cut.
- Banners for treatment works and depot fences→Block-out banner with a black back for open fences, approx. €9–16 net per m². Hides the storage yard and shows who you are.
3. Network and treatment plant investments
Building a sewer or upgrading a water treatment works usually means several sites at once and grant funding with specific signage requirements. We outline what a site board has to show in our guide [what a construction site board must include](/poradnik/tablica-budowlana-co-musi-zawierac).
- Site board→300 × 200 cm with legs from approx. €350 net. For several stretches of network we make a series with different details and one crew installs them all.
- Funding sign→200 × 100 cm Dibond on a galvanised frame from approx. €165 net. Design according to the agreement with the funding body.

4. Customer service and communication with residents
The waste collection calendar is the company’s most important print item: it reaches every household once a year and has to last twelve months. The magnetic version stays on the fridge instead of disappearing into a drawer.
- Collection calendar as a folded leaflet→DL leaflet, 6 panels, 1,000 pcs approx. €90 net. Separate versions for each area printed in one order.
- Collection calendar fridge magnet→A6 magnet: 1,000 pieces is about 15.6 m²; at approx. €24 net per m² that comes to approx. €375 net. Cutting and rounded corners included.
- Educational booklets for schools→On recycling, saving water, where waste water goes. A5 booklet, 16 pages, 500 copies approx. €240 net.
- Customer service office signage→Desks for ‘contracts’, ‘complaints’, ‘meter readings’, opening hours by the entrance. Part of the same system as the site signage.
5. Staff and education campaigns
A field worker knocking on doors to read the water meter should be recognisable. Workwear has its own standards, but logo T-shirts and hoodies are useful as outer layers or for campaigns. Open days and green fairs are a chance for residents to see what happens to their water and waste.
- Logo T-shirts and hoodies→An A4 print from 100 pieces is approx. €1.90 net per T-shirt, approx. €4 net per hoodie. For meter readers, service crews and stand staff.
- Water bottles for a ‘drink tap water’ campaign→A 750 ml bottle with a one-colour print from approx. €3.05 net each for 100 pieces. Handed out at schools and fairs.
- Roll-up banner and gazebo for open days→An 85 × 200 cm roll-up banner from approx. €55 net, a printed 3 × 3 m gazebo from approx. €750 net. A stand for the town fair and school demonstrations.
- Educational roll-up banners→A series of roll-ups: the water cycle, recycling, the recycling centre. Taken to lessons and residents’ meetings; changeable graphics in the premium version.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- When tendering for new vehicles, specify that they must arrive without the supplier’s branding. Removing someone else’s stickers costs more than the wrap.
- Put the area and year in large type on the collection calendar. Residents often keep the old one and don’t notice it is out of date.
- Design bin stickers with a big pictogram and no more than a few words. Nobody reads paragraphs on a bin.
- Order signs for remote sites with anti-graffiti laminate. Without it, cleaning off spray paint ends with a new sign.
- Keep the fleet artwork files in one place, with us or with you. Then every new vehicle gets the same livery without a new design.
