A lighting shop is in an awkward position: customers judge it by its light. A sign with a dead LED, an unevenly lit face or a cold-white light box next to a warmly lit window would go unnoticed at any other shop, but at yours they make people wonder whether you know your stuff. So illuminated signage here has to be done without compromise and serviced regularly.
The second challenge is the range. Alongside large lamps that need to be shown in an interior setting, you have hundreds of small products: bulbs, sockets, extension leads, LED strips. Retail customers get lost in the specifications, while electricians want to find their items quickly and go. Signage has to serve both types of buyer, plus trade customers who come back every week.
1. Shop sign and building front
When choosing the sign, settle on one colour temperature for the whole frontage, ideally the same as in your window. A light box glowing a cold bluish white next to a warm display looks like two different shops. LED modules and power supplies in our light boxes are replaceable, and we service illuminated signs on site.
- Light box with an evenly lit face→An opal acrylic face and densely spaced LED modules give a uniform surface without hot spots. From approx. €320 net per m². We cover power consumption in [how much power an LED light box uses](/poradnik/kaseton-led-zuzycie-pradu-i-trwalosc).
- Front-lit or halo-lit letters→A lighting shop can show it knows different light effects: front-lit letters from approx. €46 net, halo-lit from approx. €55 net per character at 30 cm high.
- Inspection and servicing of illuminated signs→Check of LEDs, power supplies and sealing from approx. €60 net. Replacing an LED module or power supply from approx. €42 net plus parts, cheaper than losing customers to a dark sign.

2. Window and showroom
A lighting shop window works best after dark, when the lamps are on. So we keep window graphics sparing and leave a view of the display. Inside, a lamp sells in context: a wall light against a living room, a pendant above a dining table. A wall graphic lets you create that setting without bringing in furniture.
- Window band with sections and opening hours→A narrow strip of film at the bottom or top of the glass: ‘Interior lighting · Electrical · LED’, opening hours. The rest of the glass stays clear.
- Wall mural with an interior setting behind the lamp display→Living room, kitchen, bathroom on the wall behind the lamps. Customers see straight away how the fitting looks at home. Approx. €15–25 net per m².
- Backlit frames with changeable graphics→Slim LED frames with fabric graphics show photos of installations or manufacturers’ collections. Change the graphic without tools when the range changes.
3. Shelves and small items
Bulbs, lampholders, sockets and LED strips sell best hung on hooks and described in plain language. Besides the price, the price strip should show the wattage, colour temperature in kelvins, luminous flux in lumens and the IP rating, so customers can compare products without asking a sales assistant who is busy with an electrician.
- Hook displays for blister packs→Freestanding or wall-mounted, in printed 5 mm PVC. Approx. €26–39 net per m² of board; hooks are chosen for the weight of the goods.
- Price strips with product specs→Synthetic paper resists moisture and bending, approx. €10–16 net per m². The strip colour can indicate the light colour: warm, neutral, cool.
- Price hang tags under pendant lamps→A ceiling lamp hangs high, and the price label on the box is in the stockroom. A HIPS tag on a nylon line, with price and product code, solves the problem.
- Section signs above the shelving→Outdoor, bathroom, LED, accessories, cables. Printed 3 mm PVC is approx. €21–33 net per m², suspended on nylon line.

4. Trade counter for electricians and business customers
An electrician who buys from you every week is worth more than a dozen retail customers. A catalogue on the counter, a calendar on the wall of his workshop and a pen in his pocket remind him where he gets his discount. Order company calendars in September or October so you can hand them out before December.
- Product catalogue or trade price list for electricians→Saddle-stitched A4 catalogue, 16 pages, 500 copies approx. €490 net. The version with trade prices can be printed in a smaller run and updated more often.
- Three-month wall calendars for regular customers→They hang in workshops and on building sites all year. Priced by quantity and header type. More in [company calendars: when to order](/poradnik/kalendarze-firmowe-kiedy-zamowic).
- Branded pens and notebooks→A small giveaway at the counter. A printed pen costs under €0.35 each at 500 pcs, an A5 notebook from approx. €1.85 net each at 100 pcs.
5. Deliveries and promotions
If you deliver to building sites and businesses, your van is your most-seen advert. For promotions, such as a collection sale or LED upgrade campaign, a banner on the building or fence that stays up for a few weeks is enough.
- Delivery van livery→Printed cast vinyl approx. €19–29 net per m², laminate approx. €8 net per m². A large phone number and what you do: lighting, electrical supplies, site delivery.
- Promotional banner on the building→A 3 × 1 m coated banner is approx. €40 net (3 m² × approx. €13). Eyelets every 50 cm included; it lasts several seasons.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Settle on one colour temperature for the sign and the window. In a lighting shop the difference between warm and cool white is noticed immediately.
- Put specs on the price strips, not just the price. Wattage, kelvins and lumens shorten the conversation at the shelf.
- Schedule a sign inspection once a year, ideally before autumn. Replacing one power supply costs less than several weeks of a dark sign.
- Don’t cover the whole window. In the evening, lit lamps visible from the street are your best advertising.
- Prepare a separate, simple sheet for electricians: price list, order number, collection hours. They don’t read catalogues full of room settings.
