A unit in a shopping centre has rules that don't exist on the street. Almost every centre has tenant design guidelines: the permitted size and type of fascia, the lighting method, the distance from the edge, sometimes even the colour temperature of the light. The design must be sent to the landlord for approval before production, and installation happens at night or before opening, with the crew registered in advance and often with documentation requirements. Anyone who doesn't know this loses a week on corrections.
The second difference: in a mall the shopper walks past dozens of windows and decides in two or three seconds. The window, and what can be seen through it at the back of the unit, does more here than the fascia itself. That's why mall tenants change graphics often (every campaign, every season) and it pays to have displays where a change takes minutes, not a whole night with a crew.
1. Before opening and during fit-out
A unit being fitted out stands for weeks with its windows covered. That's the best place to announce the opening – the centre's shoppers walk past every day. Centres usually require the works to be screened neatly anyway.
- Window hoarding film announcing the opening→Grey-back film fully hides the works inside (and darkens the unit – if the crew needs daylight, choose frosted film instead), and a 'Coming soon' print with the date and logo builds anticipation. Approx. €8–14 net per m².
- Installation visualisation for landlord approval→A render of the fascia and window on a photo of the unit with dimensions – exactly what the centre's technical department asks for. Approx. €75 net.

2. Fascia and shopfront
Most often centres allow illuminated 3D letters and a blade sign at right angles to the mall. We choose letter height and lighting type to match the guidelines, and prepare the power supply so the centre's electrician or our qualified crew can connect it without further alterations.
- Illuminated letters over the entrance→Front-lit, halo or both – depending on what the guidelines allow. From approx. €46 net per character.
- Double-sided blade sign at right angles to the mall→Shoppers walking down the mall see it from afar, before they draw level with the window. A projecting sign with bracket from approx. €300 net.
3. Window and campaigns
Graphics in a mall change often, so we advise separating permanent items from campaign ones. Permanent ones (logo, hours) are done once. Campaign graphics go on displays that can be swapped during the day, without calling a crew for a night shift.
- Campaign window vinyl→Sale, new collection, Christmas. Printed on clear or white film, cut to the pane size, installed while the centre is closed.
- LED lightboxes with changeable graphics→Slim backlit frames in the window and on the unit walls. Store staff change the graphic without tools. 100 × 200 cm from approx. €440 net. Ready-made frames are also available from [LedMeSee](https://shop.ledmesee.com/).
- Anti-theft gate skins→Every shopper walks past the gates at the entrance. A skin in repositionable vinyl or stretch fabric changes with the campaign.

4. Unit interior
Shopping centres have fire safety requirements for interior materials. For every wall and decorative material we check what we have available – for example non-woven wallpaper rated B-s1,d0. Confirm the specific centre's requirements with the landlord before ordering.
- Wall mural or graphic behind the till→A large image at the back of the unit draws the eye from the mall through the window. Non-woven wall mural approx. €15–25 net per m².
- Floor graphics→Arrows to the fitting rooms, promotion zones, a logo at the entrance. With R10 anti-slip laminate, approx. €19–30 net per m².
- Shop-in-shop and SEG frame walls→A dedicated brand or new-collection zone with fabric graphics on frames. A 100 × 230 cm module from approx. €160 net, a replacement graphic alone from approx. €65.
5. Kiosks and promotions in the mall
Some tenants also run a stand in the mall – permanently or for a campaign. Centres usually accept light, mobile displays that can be packed away after closing.
- Promotional counter with graphics→For sampling, loyalty scheme sign-ups, kiosk sales. A folding counter with graphics from approx. €210 net, a replacement graphic alone from approx. €60.
- Fabric graphic wall behind the kiosk→A light SEG frame with changeable graphics closes off the kiosk at the back and makes it a recognisable brand spot. After the campaign it folds away in minutes.
6. Multi-site tenants
Brands with units in many centres need the same items in different sizes and on different dates. We survey, produce series in consistent colours, pack a set for each store and install with crews at night, with a photo report from every location.
- Signage rollout with survey and report→Unit survey from approx. €85 net (refunded with the order), production, installation and after-photos for the expansion team.
- Campaign kits per store→Vinyls, lightbox graphics, gate skins and posters packed separately for each unit. Kitting approx. €3.30, shipping approx. €2.80 net per site.
- Night-time installation in shopping centres across Europe→Crew registered with the centre, work after closing, the unit ready to open in the morning.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Ask the centre for the tenant design guidelines before ordering the fascia design. Reworking letters after the landlord rejects them is the most expensive mistake in this trade.
- Order the fit-out hoarding together with the fascia. It costs little, and for several weeks the unit announces its opening to thousands of people.
- Plan installation in a centre well ahead – the crew has to be registered, and night slots before Christmas go fast.
- Print campaign graphics on displays staff can change themselves: frames with changeable graphics, repositionable vinyls. Every night visit by a crew is an extra cost.
- Choose interior materials with the centre's fire safety requirements in mind. If the landlord wants a certificate for a specific material, tell us before ordering.
