A used car dealer sells from the forecourt, and the forecourt is seen from a moving car. The driver has two or three seconds to notice there are cars for sale, read the name and decide whether to pull in. So the most important things stand by the road: a tall sign, moving flags, big lettering on the fence. The rest (the cabin, the cards on the cars, the folders) only works once the customer has got out.
In this trade materials work hard. Flags flap in the wind all day, banners hang on mesh for several seasons, windscreen cards bake in the sun. So we recommend materials that can take it, and reusable items: a 'Reserved' magnet instead of a note under the wiper, changeable price cards instead of a marker on the glass. A car lot also means constant turnover – signage should keep up with the forecourt, not require a crew at every change.
1. By the road and at the entrance
A roadside sign must be taller than the cars on the forecourt, or it disappears behind the first SUV. Flags provide movement that catches a driver's eye faster than a static board.
- Totem or pylon at the entrance→Non-illuminated 2.5 m totem from approx. €750 net, illuminated double-sided 3 m pylon from approx. €2,070 net. Illuminated, it also works after dark in autumn.
- Feather flags along the road→Winder Midi 70 × 340 cm with pole from approx. €75 net, Maxi 90 × 440 cm from approx. €125 net. Ground spike for grass, plate base for paving.
- Flagpole flags at the gate→A 150 × 90 cm hemmed flag with snap hooks, approx. €45 net each. After the windy season you replace just the flag.
- Forecourt fence banner→'We buy cars', 'Part exchange', 'Finance available', phone number in huge digits. On a see-through fence, black-back banner, approx. €9–16 net per m².

2. Forecourt
The forecourt should look cared for and open. Bunting over the rows of cars is a classic that still works – especially on lots without tall buildings around.
- Bunting and pennants over the cars→Strung between posts, in the dealer's colours. Quoted by length and number of pennants.
- Hours and phone board at the gate→The lot may be closed when a customer turns up on Sunday. UV-printed dibond approx. €35–55 net per m² – phone and hours must be visible from outside the gate.
3. Sales cabin or office
A car lot office is often a cabin or a small pavilion. Wrapped in graphics it no longer looks temporary, and becomes a second large sign visible from the road.
- Light box on the cabin→Single-sided light box from approx. €320 net per m². Connection by an electrician or our qualified crew.
- Cabin wall wrap→Printed polymeric vinyl, lasting 5–7 years outdoors, approx. €9–16 net per m². On profiled sheet we apply it so it doesn't lift at the ribs.

4. On the cars
Customers walk between the cars on their own. A windscreen card answers their questions before they're asked: year, mileage, engine, price. Anything you put in a car must come off without a trace.
- Windscreen price cards→A4 HIPS printed with a fixed template; you fill in details with a marker or stick on a printout. HIPS approx. €16–24 net per m², doesn't curl in the sun like paper.
- Mirror hangers→With the dealer logo and space for the stock number or price. Cut to shape from HIPS, quoted by quantity.
- 'Reserved' and 'Sold' magnets→On the door or bonnet in a second, off without a trace. Printed magnetic sheet approx. €21–32 net per m².
- Dealer sticker on a sold car→A small logo sticker on the rear window, with the buyer's agreement. It drives round the area for years. Contour-cut vinyl approx. €6–12 net per m².
5. Documents and the customer
The buyer leaves the lot with a contract, the vehicle documents, a set of keys and a stack of papers. A branded folder keeps it in order and looks professional, and the phone number stays in the glovebox for years.
- Vehicle document folders→A4 with a business card slot, matt laminated. 100 pcs approx. €135 net.
- Business cards→For the folder and the desk. 500 pcs approx. €15 net.
- Calendars for customers→A desk tent calendar with logo and phone, handed out at year end. 100 pcs approx. €36 net.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- The phone number on the banner should be the biggest element after the name. A driver remembers the phone number or nothing.
- On a mesh fence use black-back or blockout banner. Ordinary banner shows through against the sun and becomes unreadable.
- Take flags down in gales. Even a good pole will eventually snap, and a flag torn from the pole is the most common reason for replacement.
- A price card has a fixed template with logo and fields to fill in. No need to print a new one every time the price changes.
- Don't wrap cars for sale in dealer advertising. Buyers want to see the car, not an ad – a magnet and a windscreen card are enough.
