A dance or music school runs to the rhythm of the school year. Most sign-ups come at the end of August and in September, a second wave arrives in January, and in June there is the end-of-year show or concert. The show is attended by parents, grandparents, siblings and friends – in other words, your future pupils. Your advertising should follow that calendar: enrolment material ordered in July, not in the last week of August, and anything for the concert with a few weeks to spare.
Day to day, it is the studios that count. A parent waiting in the corridor looks at the walls, and a pupil wants to feel they are practising in a real studio, not a hired classroom. In a music school acoustics come into it too – a printed panel cuts reverberation and decorates the room at the same time. If you are wondering what leaflet to use for enrolment, see our guide [which leaflet format to choose](/poradnik/jaki-format-ulotki-wybrac).
1. Entrance and enrolment
Dance schools are often upstairs, in a community centre or in a sports hall, so a sign at the door and a banner on the building are essential if anyone is to know you are there at all. On the enrolment banner: class types, age groups, phone number and a line about sign-ups. The timetable changes every term, so it belongs on the leaflet and the website, not on the banner.
- Sign by the entrance→3 mm aluminium composite panel (Dibond) with UV print, approx. €35–55 net per m². If the school is upstairs, add an arrow and the floor number.
- Enrolment banner on the building or fence→For the sign-up season a 510 g laminated banner is enough. A 3 × 1 m banner is approx. €35 net (3 m² × approx. €11).
- Posters for schools, nurseries and shops→A2: 10 posters approx. €28 net, 100 posters approx. €85 net. In schools, put them up with the head teacher’s permission.
- Leaflets and folded brochures with your classes→A5 brochure folded in half, 1,000 pcs approx. €90 net. Inside: groups, times, prices of class passes and photos from lessons.

2. Studios and corridors
A dance studio is mirrors and a bare wall opposite. That wall can take a large graphic with dancers’ silhouettes or a photo from your own show. Put a logo on a mirror only along the top edge – in the area where pupils check their posture it just gets in the way.
- Wall graphics in studios and corridors→Air-release vinyl, approx. €11–19 net per m², goes on without bubbles. When you redecorate it comes off without damaging the plaster.
- Logo on the mirror→UV printed straight onto a new mirror before it is fitted, approx. €24–34 net per m², or a cut-vinyl sticker for a mirror already on the wall.
- Printed acoustic panels→Acoustic fabric with UV print, approx. €19–30 net per m². In a music room it cuts reverberation; in a dance studio it tames the echo from the speakers.
- Studio door signs→Studio 1, ballet studio, drums, piano. 3 mm printed foam PVC at approx. €21–33 net per m² is perfectly adequate indoors.
3. Shows, concerts and competitions
The end-of-year show is the best advert the school gets all year. Parents take hundreds of photos – if there is a backdrop with your logo behind the stage, those photos travel on with your name on them. Order tickets and certificates with a few weeks to spare, because the list of pupils changes until the last minute and it is good to have time for corrections.
- Concert or show tickets→55 × 170 mm with perforation, glued into pads, 1,000 tickets approx. €75 net. We add seat numbering to match the seating plan.
- Certificates for pupils→With each pupil’s name, printed from your list. Paper and quantity chosen to suit the occasion, quoted individually.
- Photo backdrop→Banner backdrop 240 × 230 cm from approx. €210 net. It lasts for years; for the next season you just change the graphic.
- Roll-up banner at the hall entrance→85 × 200 cm with graphic and bag from approx. €55 net. Also handy at competitions, fêtes and open days.

4. Pupils and parents
Matching troupe or ensemble T-shirts build a sense of belonging and look good in performance photos. A shoe bag with your logo gets carried across town twice a week. A gift voucher for lessons is a present parents and grandparents are happy to buy before Christmas.
- Troupe and ensemble T-shirts→A4 print: 20–49 pcs approx. €3.30 net, 50–99 pcs approx. €2.35 net each. Children’s and adult sizes in one order.
- Shoe bags and tote bags with logo→Cotton tote with a one-colour print, from approx. €2.10 net each for 100 pcs. Drawstring bags are quoted individually.
- Gift vouchers and class passes→Numbered, in an envelope, on heavy card. Format and finish chosen to suit the idea, quoted individually.

From our experience — what to watch out for
- Order enrolment material in July. The last week of August means a queue at every printer and the risk that posters go up when parents have long since signed their children up elsewhere.
- Don’t print class times on the banner. The timetable changes every term, and a coated banner lasts 2–3 years.
- Keep mirror logos along the top edge. Pupils need to see themselves in the mirror, not a sticker.
- For certificates, put the list of names in a spreadsheet and check it with the teachers. A typo in a child’s name is the most common reason for a reprint.
- Place the photo backdrop where parents gather after the show and light it well. Phone photos taken against the light are unusable. More: [backdrop for interviews and photos](/poradnik/scianka-sponsorska-do-wywiadow).
