Standard finishing: what you get at no extra cost
Every banner we print goes through three finishing steps included in the price per m²:
- cutting to size,
- welded hem: the material is folded over by about 3 cm and welded, so the edge is thicker and does not fray,
- eyelets every 50 cm: rust-proof eyelets, set by machine at even spacing all the way round.
At that spacing a 4 × 1 m banner gets 20 eyelets: 9 along each long side (including the corners) and one in the middle of each short side. For typical hanging on a fence, wall or warehouse, that is plenty.
Finishing options and prices
| Finishing | When we use it | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Welded hem (approx. 3 cm fold) | Every banner | included in print price |
| Rust-proof eyelets every 50 cm | Fences, walls, typical fitting | included in print price |
| Eyelets every 25 cm | Windy spots, rigid frames | approx. €0.80/lm |
| Reinforced eyelets (backing patch + eyelet) | Large format banners, facades | approx. €1.45/lm |
| Pole pocket 8–12 cm | Hanging on a pole, bar or rope | approx. €2.35/lm |
| Pole pocket with rope inside | Scaffolding, structural tensioning | approx. €4/lm |
| Webbing around the edge | Banners over approx. 20 m², billboard frames | approx. €3.05/lm |
| Welded seam joining panels | Banners wider than 3.2 m | approx. €2.80/lm |
Per-metre prices are calculated on the length of edge that carries the finish. On reinforced 370 g mesh, 12 cm pockets top and bottom are already included in the material price. With several banners finished differently, the simplest approach is to list them separately in your enquiry: size, material and fixing method for each. Then the quote is accurate straight away and nothing needs clarifying.

Matching the finish to the fixing method
The easiest place to start is the question of what the banner will hang on. A few typical situations:
Mesh fencing, panels, palings. Eyelets every 50 cm, fixed with ties or bungees at every eyelet. In open, windy terrain, eyelets every 25 cm. More on hanging in how to hang a banner on a fence.
Building wall, facade. Eyelets every 50 cm, and for large sizes reinforced eyelets and webbing. Fixed to wall plugs or hooks.
Steel or aluminium frame, tension frame. Eyelets every 25 or 50 cm with bungee tensioning, depending on the structure. For billboard frames we recommend webbing, because the banner is tensioned hard and evenly all the way round. See tension and facade frames.
Banner above a stage, in a hall, strung between posts. A pole pocket at the top, often also at the bottom so the banner does not ripple. For longer spans, a pocket with rope inside.
Scaffolding. Mesh with pockets top and bottom plus eyelets along the sides for tying to the tubes.
Banner bonded or slid into a profile. No eyelets, often no hem: tell us when ordering, because we finish the edge differently for this kind of fitting.
Example: what extra finishing costs
A 6 × 1 m banner in 510 g coated material, hung between two posts in a warehouse, with a pocket at the top and bottom:
- Print: 6 m², band 5–15 m², approx. €9 × 6 = approx. €54 net (with hems and eyelets).
- Pockets: 2 × 6 lm = 12 lm × approx. €2.35 = approx. €28 net.
- Total approx. €82 net.
The same banner on a fence by a field, with eyelets every 25 cm all the way round: perimeter 14 lm × approx. €0.80 = approx. €11 extra, so approx. €65 net in total. It then has 56 eyelets instead of 28.
As you can see, finishing does not usually change the price dramatically. It pays to spend those few extra euros rather than reprinting the banner a month later. The full banner price list is in how much does a PVC banner cost.

Pole pockets: what to remember when designing and ordering
A pocket is made from the banner material itself, folded over and welded. So an 8–12 cm pocket takes that strip of artwork from the top or bottom. Keep text and logos out of that zone and simply let the background run to the edge.
When ordering, give the diameter of the pole or the thickness of the rope the banner will hang on. We will size the pocket with some clearance so the pole slides in without forcing. A pocket that is too tight is a common problem with stage installations: the banner will not slide and wrinkles on the pole.
If the banner hangs vertically, e.g. as a long strip on a post, pockets can also go on the sides. Everything is possible; we just need to know in advance. More on preparing the file: how to prepare a banner print file.
