A pylon guides the customer from the road to the entrance: it shows the brand, the retail park's tenants, or the way in, before the driver passes the junction. We design the structure, produce the faces and illumination, and put the pylon up on site, switching on the lighting ourselves.
a galvanised steel frame, with a sheet-metal or Dibond housing, powder-coated
Faces
UV-printed Dibond, illuminated milky acrylic, or a routed face with a lit logo
Illumination
LED modules, outdoor power supplies, controlled by a timer or dusk sensor
Foundation
a concrete foundation built to a structural design, with anchors and mounting plates
Versions
single- or double-sided, with interchangeable tenant panels, with directional arrows

Production options
Illuminated pylon
A tall, double-sided structure visible from the road by day and night. The standard choice for dealerships, petrol stations and retail parks.
Non-illuminated totem
Shorter and cheaper: UV-printed Dibond on a steel frame. Works well at entrances and in well-lit areas.
Multi-tenant pylon
Each tenant gets a separate panel, which can be swapped when the tenant changes without touching the structure.
Directional totem
A smaller sign with a site map or arrows — part of a wider wayfinding system.

FAQ · Outdoor pylons and totems
Frequently asked questions
Does putting up a pylon need a permit?
It depends on height, location and local regulations. A building notification is often required, and in towns with local signage rules, compliance with them. We help prepare the paperwork.
How is the foundation for a pylon built?
To a structural design matched to the pylon's height and wind load. Anchors are set in the concrete before installation, and the pylon goes up once the foundation has cured.
Can tenant logos be swapped?
Yes. On multi-tenant pylons each panel is separate and can be swapped without dismantling the structure.
What's the difference between a pylon and a totem?
A pylon is usually a tall structure visible from the road, most often illuminated. A totem is shorter and narrower — it stands at an entrance or guides people around a site.
Can you meet a fixed date?
Usually, yes. Our standard lead time is about 3 working days, and express printing in 24 hours is possible. As the manufacturer we plan production ourselves, so we can schedule your job around your deadline. Add the date to your brief and we will confirm it before work starts.
