A blockout banner has an opaque layer inside that blocks light. That means it can be printed with two different designs, one on each side, without either showing through the other. It works well anywhere the advert is seen from two directions — over a street, in a sports hall, on a bridge or in an arcade.

FAQ · Double-sided blockout banners
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between blockout and a standard banner?
A standard frontlit banner lets some light through, so printing on the back would show through the front. Blockout has an opaque core, so both sides stay clean and fully opaque.
Do both sides need the same design?
No. We print each side separately, so they can carry different messages, for example for drivers travelling in opposite directions.
How do you hang a banner over a street?
Usually on steel cables run through pockets at the top and bottom. You'll need consent from the road authority or the pole owner — it's worth having before ordering.
Will a large double-sided banner act like a sail?
Yes, because it's solid. For large formats we use carrying tape, closer-spaced fixings and cable tensioning. If you don't need both sides, consider mesh instead.
Can you meet a fixed date?
Usually, yes. Our standard lead time is about 3 working days, and express printing in 24 hours is possible. As the manufacturer we plan production ourselves, so we can schedule your job around your deadline. Add the date to your brief and we will confirm it before work starts.
